The inside panel of each journal has an inscription from John

"The word Safari is rooted in the East African language of Swahili, which means "journey or travel", but in reality represents so much more. It arouses within us a deep sense of adventure and romance, commenced in a most stylish indulgence forged by the early European explorers and only expanded on in today`s safari experience.

Perhaps British Colonial Army Officer, Captain William Cornwallis Harris unveiled to us the first safari cloaked in pure style and pleasure. In his 1836 expedition through Southern Africa he recorded in his "journals" the people, wildlife and landscapes witnessed by himself and his fellow explorers.

Webster`s Dictionary describes the word journal as: "A daily record, as of occurrences, experiences or observations." But I like to think of it as a place where we can archive how we "felt" about our safari... And following the legacy of the early explorers these limited edition journals are perfect for preserving those precious and significant moments of our lives."
